In the early 1980’s ,the Indian Railways in joint collaboration with Rajasthan Tourism, launched a heritage train tour comprising of personal coaches of the former rulers of the princely states of Gujarat, Rajputana, Viceroy of British India and the Nizam of Hyderabad. Since then, the train has entertained people from all over the world. Due to conversion of Railway tracks in India to broad gauge from meter gauge in mid 1990’s, the original maharaja saloons were replaced by modern A/c saloons ,where all the Cabins have attached bathrooms ,but the theme remains traditional with plush interiors having strong flavor of former royal provinces of Rajasthan

Terms & Conditions
Palace On Wheels Booking Procedure:
- We require names, nationality, date of birth of all the passengers with preferred date of travel to process booking.
- Your Bookings will be confirmed against receipt of 25% advance of Total Value of Train Tour
- Balance Payment must reach us ATLEAST 70 Days before departure date with Passport details of all passengers (viz passport number; place & date of issue of passport; date of birth)
- Booking request made < 65 days before tour depart will be confirmed on receipt of full tour amount
Palace On Wheels Train Tour Cancellation Rules:
Palace On Wheels Train Tour is a joint collaboration between Ministry of Indian Railways & State Govt. Of Rajasthan & rules are accordingly framed
- Any request made for amendment in tour dates is treated as cancellation request
- The Palace On Wheels Train tour bookings are Non-endorsable.
- Action on cancellation of booking will only be proceeded on receipt of written request.
- MINIMUM 20% (twenty) of ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee ,if request made >90 days before depart date
- MINIMUM 50% (fifty) of ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee ,if request made between 61 to 90 days before depart date
- Full 100% of Total Ticket value, will be charged as cancellation fee ,if request made <60 days before depart date
- No-Show OR short journey Or curtailment of journey by self ,is NON REFUNDABLE
- Demand of refund and/or refusal to travel ,due change in tour program or tariff , is governed by cancellation policy
- Disputes, if any, are subject to jurisdiction of New Delhi (India) courts only.

After you have been informed that booking is available on your travel date of preference; Payment can be forwarded within TIME LIMIT Period intimated by
- Online Credit Card Authorization by Visa Or MasterCard
OR - Money Transfer to bank under intimation.
OR - Any other payment method mutually suitable.
Note:
- The Onboard Management of Palace on Wheels Train Tour reserves the right to curtail/amend local tours & excursions, at short notice, without any liability.
- There is no concept of tour insurance in India, at present
